Location: Daley Plaza

From November 17 to December 24, head to Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza to enjoy Chicago’s best seasonal marketplace and experience a traditional German Christmas inspired by the world-famous Nuremberg Christmas market (dating back to 1545!).

Christkindlmarket is a popular holiday event happening every year near Hotel Blake. At Christkindlmarket visitors can enjoy fabulous holiday shopping featuring seasonal items, food, drinks and entertainment all in one place. Christkindlmarket also features a stunning backdrop of the Windy City skyline during wintertime, a charming Old World “village” atmosphere, and much more only a few steps from here.

Christkindlmarket is a very unique Chicago event because it embodies the spirit of the holiday season as celebrated in the days of old, while taking place amid the Downtown Chicago skyscrapers. In the middle of our contemporary city center, you’ll be able to enjoy a charming open-air “village” that is set up specially to offer an Old World holiday experience. Red- and white-crested wooden huts glow with warmth and overflow with little shopping booths – all surrounding Chicago’s iconic Picasso sculpture. Twinkling tree lights and festive music add to the magic of Christkindlmarket. Admission to Christkindlmarket is free, making it the perfect holiday event to enjoy with family and friends.
