Christmas Around the World

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind holiday-themed Chicago event when you attend Christmas Around the World at the Museum of Science + Industry Chicago. This traditional holiday event began in 1942 with a single tree dedicated to the Allies of World War II. Today, the Chicago Museum’s 45-foot grand tree displayed as part of Christmas Around the World takes center stage in the Museum’s rotunda, surrounded by more than 50 smaller trees.
The gorgeous trees at Christmas Around the World are decorated by volunteers from Chicago’s ethnic communities to represent their various cultures and holiday traditions. As you stroll through the trees, enjoy intermittent falling “snow” and savor the special performances on the Holiday Stage.
